Find Your Missing Keywords

By Steve Strait

If you have been searching for keywords to optimize your website to, then you have no doubt used Google's Keyword Tool. It was originally part of the Google AdWords campaigns, but was available to anyone for free. If you haven't used it before, check it out using the link below.

Well, Google has released a beta version of their new Search-Based Keyword Tool. This tool is different from the one mentioned above, because it will help you identify additional keyword opportunities that you are not already using in your AdWords campaigns. If you're not using AdWords, don't fret because like the original tool, this one can be used for regular websites.

The new Search-based Keyword Tool will show you actual search queries that have been looked up in Google, which is highly relevant to your topic or niche. The relevancy is taken from your website that you list in the tool as well as the additional terms entered for submission.

Like Google's other tools, it is fairly simple to use with a straightforward interface. You don't have to be a technical wizard to get full use of this tool. As with any tool though, you will need to know how to maximize its use to full potential to help your website rankings.

The link to the new tool is below. Keep in mind that this is in beta, and is currently only available in the US & UK. Other languages will follow in time.

Go check it out, and see if you're missing any relevant keywords for your sites.

Cool tool. I can see that example.com has already locked up the "pots" and "pans" keywords I was considering.

Your website has some great tutorials. Thanks for the tip on the tool.
